Media library

Last modified on

The Media Library serves as a central hub for all digital documents, exports, and uploaded media across your Sesame workspace. Rather than navigating to individual artwork records to locate attached files, the Media Library provides a complete, searchable index of your entire file archive in one place.

Navigating the library view

To access the Media Library, select Media Library from the main left-hand navigation menu.

The main table provides an overview of each file:

  • File: Displays the file icon, name, and preview thumbnail.

  • Linked asset: Shows which artwork or artwork selection the file is associated with (e.g., Lily Briscoe — Eythos Art 6).

  • Info: Displays file size metadata and creation/upload dates.

  • File type: Highlights the document format (e.g., PDF, images, etc.).

You can also switch the presentation style in the right-hand panel between a detailed Table view and a visual Card grid.

File previews and PDF editing

Clicking or tapping on any file row in the Media Library opens a dedicated Preview panel on the right-hand side of your screen.

The preview panel allows you to inspect file details at a glance:

  • Quick actions: View (eye icon), download (download icon), tag (tag icon), edit details (pencil icon), or delete (bin icon) the selected file directly from the header.

  • File metadata: Inspect the file name, file type, size, upload date, and direct link to the associated artwork asset.

Annotating PDFs from the preview panel

If the selected file is a PDF (such as a condition report or fact sheet), tapping the View or Edit icon opens Sesame’s full document annotation suite. From here, you can mark up the document using freehand drawing tools, text boxes, shapes, callouts, and signatures, then save or download the annotated file while keeping your workspace records organised. More on our annotation tool.

Batch actions and toolbar controls

Select one or multiple files using the checkboxes on the left to activate bulk actions in the top toolbar:

  • Download: Save selected files directly to your device.

  • Tag: Apply custom organisational tags to multiple files simultaneously.

  • Rename / edit: Update file names or descriptions in bulk.

  • Delete: Remove selected files from your account.

  • In-page search: Use the search bar above the list to quickly filter files by filename.

Filtering and sorting your files

Use the right-hand sidebar panel to refine and organise your view:

Show filters

Quickly filter your workspace files by status:

  • All: View every file stored across your workspace.

  • Attached to assets: Isolate files that are explicitly linked to an artwork record.

  • Unattached: View standalone uploads or documents not currently linked to an asset.

  • By tag: Filter files by your custom assigned tags.

  • Deleted: Review recently deleted files.

Sorting options

Reorder your library list instantly using predefined sorting criteria:

  • Default (newest first) or Oldest first

  • Name A→Z or Name Z→A

  • Type A→Z or Type Z→A

  • Smallest first or Largest first

File type filtering

At the bottom of the right-hand panel, use the Filter controls to isolate specific formats across your library:

  • Image: Filter by visual media, or expand to select specific image formats such as JPEG, PNG, or SVG.

  • PDF: Display all generated exports, condition reports, and uploaded PDF documents.

  • Document: Filter by general text and office files, including Word documents.
