Uploading artworks

Last modified on

Cataloguing your collection in Sesame is designed to be quick and flexible. You can create records manually, upload single or bulk images, or let our automated warehouse intake manage record creation for you.

Adding artworks manually or via image upload

To catalog new assets directly in Sesame:

  1. Navigate to your Collection page via the side navigation menu.

  2. Tap the Add button in the upper-right corner of the interface.

  3. Choose your preferred method to add the work:

    • Upload images: Drag and drop artwork files directly into the upload dropzone, or tap to browse files on your device. You can drag in multiple images at the same time to create multiple artwork drafts or add several supporting views simultaneously.

    • Enter metadata manually: Fill out core tombstone details, including Artist/Creator, Title, Year, Medium, Dimensions, and Category.

  4. Tap Save to confirm and create the new asset record in your collection.

Batch uploads and image management

  • Drag and drop batching: When uploading multiple images at once, Sesame automatically generates draft records for each file, making bulk cataloging seamless after photo shoots or art fair purchases.

  • Adding supporting views: You can assign primary hero images and upload secondary images (such as signatures, installation shots, or reverse-of-frame labels) during creation or anytime later on the asset edit screen.

Automated additions for Eythos storage clients

If you store your physical collection in Eythos climate-controlled facilities (such as our Hong Kong or Seoul hubs):

  • Automatic syncing: Any artwork ingested into an Eythos warehouse is automatically photographed, measured, cataloged, and added directly to your Sesame account—no manual entry required.

  • Intake photos: High-resolution intake and condition check photos taken by our warehouse technicians will automatically populate in the Condition photos section on the asset page.
