Why We Are Building in Singapore

Singapore has been part of the Eythos map for a while. We have worked here as official shipping partner for ART SG, moving and installing work for galleries and collectors during one of the busiest weeks in the regional calendar. What we did not have was a home here. From 1 July 2026, we do.

We are opening our third facility in Singapore, and we are doing it with people we rate highly. Bernie Oo, former founder of the Singapore art logistics specialist Genesis Artech, is joining as our Head of Operations, Singapore, bringing key members of his team with him.

Part of this is geographic. Southeast Asia is where a large share of the next decade of collecting will happen, carried by private wealth, a maturing gallery scene and institutions investing seriously in their collections. Family offices, museums and collectors increasingly want museum-grade storage and logistics close to where they are, not a flight away. A base in Singapore answers that.

But mostly it is about people. Bernie and his team spent years earning the trust of established clients, among them the Singapore Art Museum and Changi Airport. That trust lives in the hands of the people who pack the crates, read the conditions and carry the work. Those are the people joining us. Collection care will continue under the same trusted team, which is why the practical change for clients will be small by design. The same faces, the same care, now with more to draw on.

What grows is the platform around them: an integrated ecosystem of storage, logistics, installation, framing, conservation and technical handling, built to one standard across Hong Kong, Seoul and now Singapore. We have been carbon neutral since inception, and we hold every location to the same commitments on sustainability, including net-zero by 2036.

This is also how we think about growth generally. We would rather build custody before the market demands it than scramble to catch up once it does. Singapore joins Hong Kong and Seoul, and ahead of all of them sits the facility we are fitting out within SKYTOPIA at Hong Kong International Airport, due to open in 2027. Each location is a node in one network, designed from the start to run to a single standard wherever the work is.

Art has two lives. A short one, when it is made. And a long one, when someone has to look after it. We are in the business of the second. Singapore is where that work continues next.

Welcome, Bernie and team. We are glad you are here.
