ESG’s commitments and memberships
Eythos is a participant in the United Nations Global Compact (UN GC) and received "Committed" Ecovadis’ certifications. This commitment aligns with our dedication to integrating long-term environmental guidelines and ethical practices into our daily operations.
By adhering to the UN GC's ten principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, and Ecovadis we reinforce our sustainability and well-being commitments.
Since Eythos’ Day 1, Eythos has been an Active Member of the Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC) and has operated in alignment with the PACT (Partners for Arts Climate Targets) framework. This highlights our high contributions to the efforts in reducing the art industry's environmental impact. Since April 2026, Eythos' climate targets have been rigorously feathered and validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, confirming our leadership in sustainable art logistics.
Joining these collaborative networks enables us to share best practices, and drive collective action toward a greener future.
Precision carbon tracking and reduction
Eythos' proprietary tool meticulously tracks Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions, adhering to GHG Protocol and ISO guidelines, and provides comprehensive dashboards for identifying emission hotspots.
Our objectives include a 90% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2031. Our strategy involves powering our operations with renewable energy, increasing our use of sea freight, and adopting Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for unavoidable air shipments or business travels.
Beyond reducing our emissions, Eythos invests in high-integrity carbon mitigation projects that go beyond our value chain. These Beyond Value Chain Mitigation (BVCM) investments support renewables, nature-based solutions, and carbon removal, accelerating the global transition to net zero.
All projects are certified by internationally recognised standards and reported separately from our science-based reduction targets, in line with SBTi guidance.
2031 carbon halving pledge
Eythos is committed to cutting its carbon emissions by 50% by 2031. This commitment encompasses Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, addressing direct operations, purchased energy, and supply chain impacts.
Eythos is transitioning its facilities to renewable energy and exploring ways to shift logistics to lower-emission alternatives such as lower-impact sea freight and adopting Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for unavoidable air shipments.
Our proprietary carbon tracking tool utilises emission factors sourced from globally recognised databases such as the IEA, DEFRA, and EPA, with location-specific grid intensities applied for maximum accuracy.

Our path to net-zero
Eythos integrates sustainability into its operations by meticulously tracking carbon footprints, sourcing local recycled materials, and collaborating with environmentally conscious suppliers.
Eythos is committed to reaching Net-Zero by 2036. To independently validate our decarbonisation strategy, our near-term (2031) and net-zero (2036) targets were formally approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in April 2026, aligning our operations with the 1.5°C pathway.

Eco-efficient facilities
Both locations are near International airports helping to cut carbon emissions for global operations.
Eythos' HQ in Hong Kong is in a BEAM Plus Platinum, LEED Gold, and WELL certified building and Eythos Korea is located in a LEED Gold certified building. Both facilities are equipped with 100% LED lighting, efficient HVAC, and motion sensors in every room.

Sustainable raw materials
Eythos prioritises sustainable material selection, using FSC-certified plywood, recycled foams bio-based foams, paper and tapes, and 80%+ recycled FSC® or PEFC™ certified cardboards, all sourced locally.
By choosing plywood instead of solid wood, we avoid intensive chemical processes and fumigation requirements, ensuring a cleaner and more eco-friendly packaging solution.
The crates and packaging are designed to avoid 'shipping air.'
By custom-sizing every box in our HK and Seoul facilities and consolidating multiple artworks into single crates, we reduce both bulk and emissions. We’ve also replaced single-use plastics with recycled foams and paper-based tapes to ensure our crates are as eco-friendly as they are secure.
