From August to December 2026, the Sehwa Museum of Art in Seoul hosts a landmark retrospective commemorating the late German-Austrian artist Georg Baselitz (1938–2026). As the first exhibition held in Korea following the artist’s passing, this comprehensive showcase spans a 60-year career, from his groundbreaking inverted figures and 1960s icons to his late-period Gold Paintings and intimate portraits of his wife, Elke.
Eythos directed the end-to-end international logistics, specialised transport, and technical installation for the entire 45-work retrospective, spanning monumental oil paintings, delicate works on paper, and heavy sculptures.
Executing an exhibition of this historical weight and physical scale demanded precise structural planning and installation accuracy.
Outdoor crane rigging was used to position a massive 3m bronze sculpture weighing 640kg at the museum plaza, requiring ground-load calculations and custom outdoor rigging to safely manoeuvre and anchor into place.
A 2.8m sculpture weighing 110kg presented complex indoor access challenges, requiring precise tilt-and-turn manoeuvring and hand-placement within the gallery space.
Oversized canvases exceeding 3 meters, including key pieces from his late Remix and Gold Painting series, demanded climate-controlled art transit and multi-technician wall mounting.
