Driving Hong Kong Towards Zero-Emission Logistics

Eythos' approach to sustainability goes far beyond far standard sustainability practices like facility design or reliance on Beyond Value Chain Mitigation (BVCM) carbon offsets. We are deeply committed to the decarbonisation of all our daily operations, backed by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals to halve our emissions by 2031 and achieve Net-zero by 2036. The acquisition of an hydrogen vehicle, the first in Hong Kong’s, marks a key advancement in our environmental strategy aimed at reducing Scope 1 emissions generated by our fleet. In 2026, Scope 1 direct emissions are projected at 135 tons CO2e, equivalent to 65 round-trip flights between Hong Kong and London or the annual carbon footprint of 30 Hong Kong residents. Transitioning to a zero-emission truck will be critical toward reducing this impact.

Why Hydrogen, Why Now?

Hong Kong's first hydrogen fuel cell truck will call Eythos home, ready to carry fine art across the city. The truck runs on hydrogen, emitting only water vapour, and reflects a simple principle at the heart of Eythos's work: Protecting what matters.

Hydrogen fuel cells offer compelling, field-tested operational advantages match the rigorous demands of fine art logistics. Combining diesel-equivalent refueling speeds with an extended range of over 550 km, hydrogen-powered vehicles eliminate charging delays entirely. This keeps time-sensitive transit schedules strictly on track, a crucial capability during high-volume periods like art fairs.

Crucially, because hydrogen systems are lighter than commercial battery banks, they maximize total vehicle payload capacity. This key engineering advantage provides a payload capacity of over 3,000 kilograms, enabling the seamless, secure transport of heavy artwork across the city without compromising structural weight limits or the high level security required for valuable collections.

What's Next

The deployment of Eythos' new hydrogen truck marks more than an operational milestone. It represents a tangible leap toward our target of Net-zero emissions by 2036. As fine art logistics demands uncompromising precision, security, and timeliness, Eythos continues to lead the sector by adopting zero-emission technologies that deliver on all fronts.

Protecting what matters requires protecting our shared environment, and our journey is just getting started.
