Art exists to be seen. But before it can be admired on the walls of a fair or gallery, it has to be moved. There was a time, decades ago, when artist Kim Tschang-yeul’s paintings of water drops were rolled up and carried in the suitcase of an apprentice traveling from his Paris studio to Seoul.
